FOX is following in the footsteps of NBC who aired the live musical version of Sound of Music last December.
Cult musical and movie Grease is set to hit the small screen in a live three-hour production sometime in 2015. We’re not sure if it will more closely resemble the stage or movie adaptation, but either way it’s going to be a MUST SEE event!
John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John headlined the movie in 1978, so it’s been a while since the classic got a fresh look.
Shana C. Waterman, senior VP of event series for Fox commented, “From Broadway to film, and across generations, Grease is one of the most beloved musical stories ever told – and we can’t wait to bring it to our air in a spectacular live event.” (Source)
NBC’s Sound of Music garnered 22 million viewers and we predict Grease will have an even bigger audience.
